I Will Serve The Lord...

Thomas F. Fischer, M.Div., M.S.A.

Number 23

When given the choice to call upon the Lord in prayer or simply carry on my life as if He were not there guiding me, I will serve the Lord.

When given the choice to worship the name of the Lord or do what instead seems to be important to me, I will serve the Lord.

When given the choice of becoming involved the Lord’s ministry or simply pulling back and watching, I will serve the Lord.

When given the opportunity to brag about this church’s ministry and leadership and share what it is doing in my life or talking down the Lord’s Body in this place, I will serve the Lord.

When given the chance to promote a sense of Christian healing or continue to compound the negatives which I might feel, I will serve the Lord.

When confronted with the opportunity to begin new ministries to the Lord’s glory or turn away with apathy saying, "It will never work," I will serve the Lord.

When serving the Lord seems no longer a joy and I must determine whether to continue bearing the burden of the Lord’s service or giving up, I will serve the Lord.

When becoming discouraged and disillusioned about the Lord’s working in my life, I will not give up; I will serve the Lord.

When considering the use of my money as to whether I should either generously support the Lord’s ministry or hold back from God the joyous response of love to Him, I will serve the Lord.

When given the choice of spending time in growing in a greater dependence on God’s Word or going about my earthly, mundane tasks, without the benefit of His Word, I will serve the Lord.

When given the opportunity to become a growing disciple of Jesus Christ or simply to be content with the gradual decline and destruction of my faith, I will serve the Lord.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
